Running simple CIV:

Choose 'CIV' in the ACTION menu at lower left, and press 'RUN' to get the CIV interface. Alternatively, get the same interface by the matlab command 'civ', then use the browser to select one of the images. The image series numbers are displayed in the upper right windows. Press the 'RUN' button on the lower right of the CIV interface to calculate the velocity field, using the default parameters set on the interface . The programme warns you that the scaling in pixel per cm has been left at its default value 1: these values can be set, after image calibration, in the edit boxes 'pxcmx' and 'pxcmy' on the upper right. Similarly the time interval 'dt' between two images can be specified in the 'dt(ms)' edit box on the left. With default values (1000 i.e. 1 s), the results are displacement vectors in pixel units. While the programme is running, the 'RUN' button is colored in grey, while red wait bars show the advancement of the computation, and a command line appears on the matlab prompt, corresponding to the command of the binary executable programme for CIV.

The CIV computation uses images in the .png format. If they are not in this format, the images are duplicated by the programme as a series of .png images before CIV processing.
