Refined CIV:

As described for example 1, a refined processing can be performed, using the civ1, fix1, patch1 as a first guess. Come back to the civ interface: select again the .avi file with the browser and set again the same file numbers 'first, increment, last' in 'image # i', and the right subdirectory 'B' in 'SUBDIR_CIV1'. A convenient way to restart a processing is to open the matlab figure .fig created in the image directory after each run, preserving the 'civ' interface with its parameters. Open this file with the browser of uvmat, edit it, and run again.

We now unselect the 'CIV1' operation, already performed, and select 'FIX1' and 'PATCH1'. We need to choose '-8|8' in the 'CIV1_PAIR' menu, indicating that we shall work from this pair for the fix and patch operations. In fact this is the only available choice if no other pair has been processed in B. Set 'nx' and 'ny' to 100 to get a high resolution. Keep the default values for the other parameters.

Select now the options 'civ2','fix2', 'patch2'. Use a high resolution 'dx'=10, 'dy'=10 in civ2 and 'nx'=100, 'ny'=100 in patch2. We can increase the time interval for civ2 to improve the precision, since the search is now guided by the previous civ1 estimate. Let us therefore choose for instance '-10|10' in the menu under 'civ2'. The corresponding interface setting is available as 'UV_DEMO/EX_1/movie_civ2.fig'. Press 'RUN'.

As in the example of previous section, we can still refine the results with a new 'civ2','fix2', 'patch2' operation. Open again the civ interface, selecting only 'civ2', 'fix2', 'patch2'. The previous result civ2, with the pair -10|10 in subdirectory B, is now considered as civ1. Select this pair in the 'CIV1_PAIR' menu (use the vertical scroll bar to make it appear low in the menu). Select the pair '-12|12' in the menu under 'CIV2' to still increase the precision. Introduce a new subdirectory name, for instance 'C_12', in 'SUBDIR_CIV2'. Keep the resolution 'dx'=10, 'dy'=10, 'nx'=100, 'ny'=100 (the corresponding interface setting is available as 'UV_DEMO/EX_1/movie_civ3_12.fig'). For further comparison, let us then run again the same processing with the pair '-14|14' in the menu under 'CIV2', introducing a new subdirectory name, 'C_14', in 'SUBDIR_CIV2' (setting in 'UV_DEMO/EX_1/movie_civ3_14.fig').
